Test Your General Knowledge
How to take the test
1. This is not a timed test. You have the opportunity to reflect on each of the 50 questions, but you are not allowed to consult any reference materials, documents, dictionaries or other websites while taking the test.
2. For each question, you are asked to type in your response in the given space. Errors in capitalization, accents and the usual typographical mistakes are accepted (we’ve done our best to take into account all conceivable typographical errors, but it’s possible that we missed some of them!).
3.
If you give the exact answer, you score 5 points for that question.
If you are not completely sure of your answer, you can ask for a clue, and if you get the right answer, you will score 3 points for that question.
If you do not know the answer, you are given three possible choices. In this case, if you answer correctly, you will score 1 point for that question.
The maximum score for this test is 250 points (50 right answers x 5 points maximum each).
4.
To begin the test, you are given the option to eliminate 14 out of 24 categories in which you feel least confident in. All the test questions you’ll encounter will then be based on the categories you selected.
5. At the end of the test, you will be offered the possibility of accessing a detailed summary of questions that you didn’t answer correctly. This summary will include both the answers you gave, plus the corresponding right responses.
